Creating discount codes
Discount codes can be added one-by-one, generated en masse, or imported in bulk via a CSV file.
To create a new discount code:
1. Click the Tickets tab or the Ticket Editor touchpoint.
2. Select Discount Codes.
3. Click New Discount Code.
On the next page, you’ll find the following options:
Single Code: Use this option to add discount codes one-by-one.
Multiple Codes: Use this option to mass generate discount codes.
Import CSV: Use this option to import a list of discount codes.
Export CSV: Use this option to export a list of your discount codes.
Single Code
The Single Code option allows you to add individually created codes to your tickets.
To add a single code:
- Enter the name of the discount code.
- Under Set Discount Amount, click the $ or % icon to determine whether the discount is dollar or percentage-based. Enter the discount amount in the input field.
- Use the Applies To section to specify the ticket(s) the discount should apply to. If the discount is applicable to all tickets, select All Ticket Types.
- In the Number Available field, enter the number of orders the discount code can apply to. If there isn’t a limit, leave this section blank.
- If the discount code is only available for a certain time (e.g. an early bird ticket sale), check off Customize Date and Time. Enter the date and time in the fields that appear.
- Once all details have been added, click Save.
Multiple Codes
The Multiple Codes option allows you to mass generate discount codes.
To generate multiple codes:
- Enter the number of discount codes to be generated.
Enter the date in time in the fields that appear.
- Once all details have been added, click Save.
|
Note: If you're looking to limit one discount code per person, use the Limit One Order per Email option in the Tickets tab. Otherwise, you cannot limit the number of tickets that a discount code can apply to. |
Import CSV
The Import CSV options allows you to save time by batch uploading your discount code information.
To format and upload a spreadsheet of discount codes:
- Create 4 columns in your preferred spreadsheet application (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Numbers, etc.).
- Label each column with the following headers:
Discount Code: Enter the name of each discount code in this column.
Flat Discount Amount: Enter the dollar amount of each discount code in this column.
Percent Discount: Enter the percentage amount of each discount code in this column.
Max Uses: Enter the number of orders the discount code can apply to in this column.
Download a test template here. - If you choose to offer a dollar amount for a discount code, enter a "0" in the percentage column and vice versa.
- Once all discount codes have been added, save or export the file in a .CSV format.
- Click Upload Your CSV File.
A confirmation screen will appear with the number of discount codes added.
|
Pro Tip: For best results, make sure your spreadsheet does not contain any extraneous characters (e.g. asterisks, commas, accents, etc.), as these can cause issues during the upload process. |

Creating tracking links
Splash tracking links allow you to measure:
- Page traffic from a source
- RSVPs generated by a source
- Who RSVP'd via a source
- Ticket sales associated with a source
Sources can include recruiters, sales reps, an email blast, a social media ad, or any other way your tracking link is shared. Additionally, you can use tracking links to make different ticket types exclusive to certain segments of guests.
To create a tracking link:
- Open the Analytics tab.
- Click Advanced Tracking.
- Click New Tracking Link to the right of the page.
- Assign the link a name and edit the URL to your liking.
- Click Save.
|
Warning: Some tracking links are unavailable. Check out the list here. |
Applying tracking links to tickets
Once tracking links are created, you can apply them to your tickets and attribute revenue to each source.
To apply a tracking link to a ticket:
- Click the Tickets tab or the Ticket Editor touchpoint.
- Click Edit next to the ticket the tracking link should be applied to.
- Under Availability, select Limited Availability.
- Check off the corresponding tracking link.

Tracking links URLs will only show the tickets you exclusively set up for that link. Any tickets tied to tracking links will be hidden from your event page.
|
Note: If all of your ticket types are exclusive to tracking links, no tickets will appear when guests visit your main event page. |

Measuring the success of your tracking links
There are two different ways to measure tracking link performance in Splash: the Tracking Link dashboard and the Guest List filter.
Tracking Link dashboard
The Tracking Links dashboard is where you can see the total visits and ticket sales associated with your tracking links.
To view your Tracking Links dashboard:
1. Open the Analytics tab.
2. Click Advanced Tracking.
Here, you’ll find the total tracking link visits, total tickets sold, and total ticket sales across all tracking links.

This includes the number of tickets purchased in the order, the purchaser’s name, the ticket type, the purchase date, and the total ticket amount.

To filter on tracking links on the RSVPs page:

- Locate the Tracking Links filter and check off the box next to the corresponding link(s).
To filter on tracking links on the Guests page (in Limited Availability only):
