Setting up your WiFi
A strong and stable internet connection is necessary for badge printing. Your printer and device will both rely on this internet connection.
For on-site printing, we recommend using a MiFi (mobile hotspot) for the following reasons:
- It allows you to configure your printer and devices before your event.
- If you're using the same hotspot for all events, your printer will remember the hotspot and save you setup time.
- It provides a dedicated internet connection for multiple devices.
- There are fewer settings to manage for an effective connection.
If you'll be connecting to a venue's standard WiFi network, ensure the following settings are activated:
- The network must offer at least 2.4 GHz frequency to accommodate the printers.
- Ensure the client Containment Setting is set to “Off” to allow devices to communicate with the printers.
- Make sure the access point is in line-of-sight of the registration area to ensure that there is a strong signal at registration.
- Create a Private SSID for registration devices. This will dedicate a part of the internet signal to the registration network.
Inserting your paper tape
Before getting started, be sure to insert the DK2205 continuous length white paper tape with the arrow pointing into the printer.
