Overview
Before you get started, let's run through the benefits of using Splash's Virtual Event Page.
- Create a frictionless guest experience. From registration to the big day, the guest experience starts and ends in Splash.
- Keep your brand integrity. Design a virtual venue with your brand's fonts, colors, and logos.
- Capture valuable guest data. Track what time your guests check in and out of the event and pass that information to your Guest List or any third party of choice.
BlueJean embed vs. link out options
There are two options to consider when using the Virtual Event Page with Blue Jeans:
1. Embed BlueJeans: Attendees can view the BlueJeans event from inside the Virtual Event Page.
- No downloads or extra clicks required since guests will be able to view the embedded BlueJeans in Splash.
- Attendee data will be accessible from Splash. Guest data, including name and email, will not be collected in BlueJeans (but all anonymous attendees with a status of "Show" can be exported).
2. Link out to BlueJeans: Attendees can be linked out to view the event natively in BlueJeans.
- Check-in is still completely on-brand inside Splash's Virtual Event Page.
- Attendee data will be accessible from both Splash and BlueJeans.
Virtual Event Page set up
Once you've picked your option, it's time to set up the Virtual Event Page and your corresponding BlueJean's event.
- Create a Splash event and click Add Touchpoint then select Virtual Event Page.
- Create a corresponding event in BlueJeans.
|
Note: This set up does not utilize the native BlueJeans integration in Splash. If this is set up with a specific event type, that event type should not be used if you will be using link out or embed with BlueJeans. |
How to embed a BlueJeans event
Generating the BlueJeans Embed
- From inside BlueJeans, click the three dots next to your associated event and choose Embed Video.
- Enter in your Splash event's URL.
- Click Generate URL.
- Click Copy URL (you'll need this for the next set of steps in Splash!).
Embedding the BlueJeans Event in Splash
- From inside your Splash event, click into the Virtual Event Page touchpoint.
- On the top left, select the Live Stream stage.
- From the layout tree on the right, click Embed Options then choose Custom Embed.
- Paste the embed code you copied from BlueJeans.
- Click Save Changes.
Understanding guest analytics
As mentioned earlier, when using the embed option guest data (name and email) will not be collected in BlueJeans. However, you can still complete an export in BlueJeans of all anonymous attendees with a status of "Show."
Instead, we recommend relying on Splash for all guest analytics. In Splash's Guest List, guests who check in will be noted as "Checked In" and then "Checked Out" once they close the link. You can also understand average guest duration using the top-level reporting tab. Make sure to switch to the Event Guest List Dashboard.
How to link out to a BlueJeans event
Getting the BlueJeans event link
- Inside your BlueJeans event, click Join Info.
- Select the Attendee tab.
- Copy the Join URL.
Linking out to BlueJeans Event
- From inside your Splash event, click into the Virtual Event Page touchpoint.
- On the top left, select the Live Stream stage.
- From the Virtual Content element, select Link Out.
- Click Link Out to access button styles and settings.
- In the Button Link field, add the BlueJean's attendee URL.
- Click Save.
Understanding guest analytics
When using the link out option, there are two places to get participant data:
- Splash's Guest List or Reporting Dashboard: As mentioned above, use Check In and Check Out times in Splash's Guest List, or the Event Guest List Dashboard in Splash's top-level reporting tab.
- BlueJeans Event: You can also access the participant data directly from BlueJeans by clicking into the specific event. This will capture the guests who joined the BlueJeans event by clicking "Join Now" on the Virtual Event Page.
Keep in mind that there's a chance that a guest could have checked into the event in Splash, but did click "Join Now" to access the BlueJeans event. This would result in the guest having a Checked In status in Splash, but the guest would not be noted as a participant in BlueJeans.
