Splash's Virtual Event Page delivers your guests a seamless and branded virtual experience from start to finish.
This article walks you through the steps for how to embed — a term that refers to inserting content into a website — a livestream, or other type of engagement content, in the Virtual Event Page.

How to begin
First, follow the steps for adding the Virtual Event Page touchpoint to your event. Then, follow the steps below to begin:
- Click the Virtual Event Page from the Event Overview.
- Make sure Live Stream is selected in the upper-left corner.
- Click Embed in the layout tree on the right.
- Click Embed Options.
- Use the Select Embed dropdown to choose one of Splash's recommended providers: Splash Studio, Vimeo, Zoom, or use the Custom Embed option to bring your own solution.
- Click Save Changes.
How to add a second embed
The Virtual Event Page supports two embeds. Use a second embed like a chat or poll service to promote audience engagement alongside your video livestream.
To add and style a second embed:
- Click Add Embed from the layout tree on the right.
- Select one of Splash's recommended providers: Vimeo or Zoom, or use the Custom Embed option to bring your own solution.
- Click Save Changes.
- Click theicon next to Virtual Content to adjust the layout of the embeds from the default Side by Side view to Sidebar or Stack.

Steps to embed
- Click on the Virtual Event Page touchpoint.
- Make sure Live Stream state is selected in the upper-right corner.
- Click Embed from the layout tree on the right.
- Click Embed Options.
- Select Vimeo in the Select Embed dropdown.
- Copy and paste your Vimeo video ID. This is the string of numbers located at the end of your video’s URL.
- Click Save Changes.
Embeddable features
- Video comments are not embeddable.
Best practices
- Vimeo’s privacy settings make it easy to keep your content exclusive to your guests. We recommend both hiding the video from Vimeo.com and restricting the embed to your event page’s domain:
Note, entering the app.splashthat.com domain ensures you will be able to see the video when editing the Virtual Event Page.
How to embed a Vimeo Live Event
Steps to embed
Vimeo provides instructions for locating the embed code for a live event and live chat.
Make sure to adjust your embed code size from responsive, Vimeo’s default, to fixed. You can leave the dimensions as they are (width of 640 pixels and height of 360 pixels).
- Click on the Virtual Event Page touchpoint.
- Make sure Live Stream state is selected in the upper-right corner.
- Click Embed from the layout tree on the right.
- Click Embed Options.
- Select Custom Embed in the Select Embed dropdown.
- Copy and paste the embed code for live event and the chat, if applicable. By default the chat will appear next to the live video.
- Click Save Changes.
Embeddable features
- Polls and Q&A are supported inside the embed.
Best practices
- Use the same privacy settings described above to restrict your live embed to your event page’s domain only.

Sequel provides ready-to-use, embeddable event components including stages and networking hubs, including 1:1 and group circles, to support engaging hybrid and virtual events.
Steps to embed
To generate the embed from Introvoke:
- Go to a Virtual Stage or Networking Hub that you created, and click Embed Info.
- Turn on Registration Mode if you haven't already.
- Copy the HTML snippet.
To embed the components on your Virtual Event Page:
- Click on the Virtual Event Page touchpoint.
- Make sure Live Stream state is selected in the upper-right corner.
- Click Embed from the layout tree on the right.
- Click Embed Options.
- Select Custom Embed in the Select Embed dropdown.
- Paste the HTML snippet you copied from your Admin Dashboard.
- Click Save Changes.
How to embed Facebook Live
Steps to embed
To generate the embed from Facebook:
- Choose a public Facebook livestream post from your thread.
- Click the gear icon in the livestream video player.
- Copy the Facebook Live URL.
- Follow the Step-by-Step instructions in Facebook for Developers Embedded Video & Live Video Player and copy the generated iframe code.
Warning: If you're looking to embed a video from a Facebook Group, the group must be Public. You cannot generate an embed code for videos in Private groups. |

Embeddable Features
- Facebook does not provide code for embedding the live chat.
Best Practices
- If you're looking to embed a video from a Facebook Group, the group must be Public. An embed code cannot be generated for videos in Private groups.

- Paste the embed code.
- Click Save Changes.

- YouTube does not officially support embedding live chat.
Best Practices
- YouTube offers Public, Unlisted, and Private options for live videos. To keep your video private to only those with the link, select the Unlisted option.
