Event Page Design: The Display Tab Follow
The Display Tab, Positioning Tab, and Properties Tab are the three most advanced accordions in the Splash CMS.
The Display Tab offers a designer the ability to alter the Display Mode of an Element or Block, the overflow options of text content, and the overall opacity of the Element or Block. It's important to note that this is a very advanced tab in Designer Pro and is rarely used because of its power. Most designers avoid it altogether, but we're happy to walk you through what's available anyways because we'd never limit our designers.
Display Mode: None will basically do the same thing that Hiding an Element or Block does. It removes the element or block from the event page, without completely deleting it. The element or block will also become grayed out once you decide to either hide it or set it as Display Mode: None.
Display: Inline Block allows Blocks or other Elements to stack next to the given Element or Block you are applying that class to. This is the default setting for the majority of Blocks and Elements in Splash.
Display: Block places that Element or Block on its own line on the event page, and nothing can sit next to it. It's almost as if you're placing that component in its own 100% wide container.
The Opacity slider is exactly what you’d think. It will either increase the transparency or opaqueness of an individual block or element. Most commonly, the opacity slider is used to increase or decrease the intensity of a color mask element, most often found inside Cover Blocks. Watch as I click into the cover block and select the color mask element. I can change the color value of the mask if I want by selecting a different swatch, and then I can lower the opacity of the mask via the display tab.
Just like the majority of the editing features, the display tab can be updated independently in the mobile and tablet workspace as well.
