Where did my event page go? Follow
Having trouble locating your event? Have no fear! These troubleshooting steps can help ensure your event finds its way back home.
Question 1: Can I still access the URL of my event page?
No: Typically when an event is deleted, the URL will no longer re-direct to your event page. Rather, you will land on the Splash homepage. If you accidentally deleted your event, you can always submit a case with the name of the event and the date/time it was deleted at, and we'll revive it for you!
Yes: If you visited the URL of your event page and you see the Splash icon in the top right corner when visiting your event page, you have editing access. Amazing! Continue to Question 2.
If you do not have editing access and should, please contact your team lead or the event organizer of the page using the Contact the Organizer link in the footer of the page.
Question 2: Can I locate the event in my events dashboard?
Scenario 1: This is a very common occurrence and in most cases it's likely that an account holder saved your event page as a theme. Saving events as template themes is a great way to create new, identical event pages to use again in the future. But keep in mind - when an event is saved as a theme it will no longer be considered an 'event', and it move from your Events Dashboard to your Theme Library. Don't worry - this is fixable! To revive your event and save a duplicate copy as a template, follow these steps:
- Log into Splash using your credentials
- Head to the Splash Library and select the Themes tab.
- Hover over the theme in question and click on the blue Theme Options button that appears
- Select Share Theme and switch to the Shared With view to see who currently has access. Take a screenshot, or copy and paste this for later!
- Exit this modal and click back into Theme Options to now select Unset as Theme to revert your theme back into an event page
- From here, we now need to duplicate the event page, so that one copy can be saved as a theme*. To do so, you can the steps listed out in our Help Center article: How do I save a Splash page as a theme?
- Make sure that you share the theme with the same people and groups - so that your colleges can use it too!
*Typically, we advise duplicating a page before saving it as a theme, so that one copy can live in the themes dashboard, and the other (i.e. your event or Hub) can live and function as a normal page.
Scenario 2: Maybe you have filters or sorting activated on your Events Dashboard. Use the dropdown bar on the Events Dashboard to view your events by event date, date created, latest page update, or alphabetical order. If you're looking for an event that already happened, make sure that your dashboard is not organized by the Upcoming option. You can also use the Filters button to Reset All Filters.
Question 3: Did someone in my Organization remove my access?
It might be a good idea to check with your Program Director to see if they happened to remove your access to the specific Splash page you're searching for. This can happen accidentally sometimes, and is usually resolved by having your Program Director re-add your account as a collaborator to the page!
