How do I send emails from my own domain? Follow
With a paid Splash plan, you can send Splash emails from a domain your company owns with the support of a technical setup and additional cost, as outlined in our Professional Services Menu.
To set up email sending from your domain, complete the following:
- Reach out to our Professional Services team through the Professional Services Request Form with the following information:
- The intended FROM email address you want to use, e.g., events@yourcompany.com.
- This address can be dynamic, such as splasheventtitle@company.com to pull in your event details
- Or it can be static, such as events@company.com
- An unused and unique subdomain used purely for hosting purposes. Unused means that no website currently exists at this subdomain address.
- If you want to send emails from events@yourcompany.com, you'll need an unused subdomain like emails.company.com.
- If you decide that your emails should come from a subdomain like @events.company.com instead of @company.com, we will choose the hosting subdomain at random, e.g. em.sub.domain.com.
- Determine if your IT team will handle auto-forwarding direct replies to emails sent from Splash or if you would like Splash to manage (i.e., re-routing to the event owner for the event).
- If you'd like Splash to handle auto-forwarding, we only auto-forward for email addresses using subdomains that aren't currently being used as websites, e.g., @events.company.com
- The intended FROM email address you want to use, e.g., events@yourcompany.com.
- With the above information, Splash will generate DNS Records that you must configure within your domain. If Splash is handling auto-forwarding, we will generate additional DNS records that also need to be created.
- Next, you will configure DNS records based on the information Splash provides.
- Splash Professional Services finalizes the domain setup.
Note: Starting February 2024, Google and Yahoo implemented enhanced email authentication requirements for all bulk senders. Be sure you are following all necessary steps to ensure your emails are delivered. |
