Stages are a dynamic version of our backups feature, empowering you to schedule different versions of your Event page that your attendees can experience before, during and after your event.

Creating a stage: a carbon copy of your page

A stage is a saved version of your Splash page. No one has access to this stage unless you choose to Publish the stage or share the direct link. The URL for your stage will look similar to: https://yourawesomeevent.splashthat.com/?stage=830181.

To create a stage:

1. In the Event Page, hover over the Backups icon 
2. Click the Stages section to access the saved versions of your page.
3. Click the Add Stage button.

Saving edits to a stage

You can add, hide and re-style any block on a stage to create a brand new look for your site. Save your Stage changes using the green Save button. Saving here does not affect your live Splash page.

This goes for any text element on the page because they are dynamic. Only design and structural changes within the CMS are compatible with Stages.

To work around this, we recommend:

1. Cloning the block you want to edit.
2. Hide the block that you don’t want to alter in the Layout tab.
3. Then use the newly cloned block to include the new stage text.

Publishing a stage to be live

If you'd like to publish the stage, it will not overwrite your old versions but will switch out the current live page with this specific stage. I recommend creating a "pre-event" stage to return to if necessary. Naming your stages saves tons of time here.

To publish a stage:

1. In the Event Page, hover over the Backups icon.
2. Click the Stages section to access the saved versions of your page.
3. Click the Publish button to update the current live version of your page to this stage OR you can also schedule the stage to publish at one of the below options:
   • Start Date - Stage will publish at the start day/time of the event.
   • End Date - Stage will publish at the end day/time of the event.
   • 4 weeks before
   • 2 weeks before
   • 1 day after

Duplicating Event pages + Stages

When duplicating your event page, any Stages present in your current Event page will also duplicate into the newest Event page.
