How do I create a Greenhouse integration?

Splash’s integration with Greenhouse enables you to automatically sync candidate data to your Attendee Tracking System (ATS) so that you can quickly and accurately track candidates sourced from, and influenced by, events. 

There are two different ways to configure your Splash-Greenhouse integration:

  1. Organization Level - An org-level integration means that all events you create will be connected to Greenhouse.

    Organization Level integrations are set up in your Integrations dashboard.

  2. Event Level - Event-level integrations are configured a la carte — event by event — meaning events you do not configure and activate the integration for will not be connected to Greenhouse. 

    Event Level integrations are configured in the event page's Settings tab.

 Getting Set up:

1. From your Integrations dashboard or event page's Settings tab, click New integration.


2. Choose Greenhouse from the list of available integrations.

3. Great! You'll now be prompted to fill out specific fields to authenticate your account


4. Once the account authentication process is complete, you'll be able to enter an Integration Name, Select a Trigger, and choose an Action.

For Greenhouse, only Attendee actions are available, so you'll only be able to set Attendee as the Trigger.

If the Attendee Action being configured, for example, is RSVP Yes, that means when a guest registers for an event in Splash, that information will be sent to Greenhouse.


6. Next, map the Greenhouse Remote Fields for first_name and last_name to First Name and Last Name Contact fields in Splash.

For good measure, it's recommended mapping your applicant's email field, too, which will ensure you have a way of uniquely identifying the candidate. 


7. Click Save.

Please note: first_name and last_name are required fields in Greenhouse and can't be removed.

8. Most customers choose to sync Resume and Job Position information submitted in Splash back to Greenhouse.

For the latter, it's particularly useful to be able to connect the position being applied for to a Greenhouse Job ID.

Here's a quick refresher on how to add questions to your event's RSVP form, such as Resume and Job:

1. Pop open the event page's Form tab.

2. Click Add Question.

3. Select the Resume question from the menu.

4. Then add a custom question for Job Position.

When selecting which job to apply for, the options should follow the syntax Label{{job_id}}  the ID within the brackets in the Job ID in your Greenhouse instance.


When a guest RSVPs, the value inside the brackets will appear in the contact information of your guest list.


9. Next, map your newly added Splash questions to Greenhouse fields.


10. It's also recommended that you map the Splash Event Domain field to your Greenhouse field for website_url — this will allow you to attribute the attendee's action to a specific event.

11. Save your integration then toggle it ON to activate it.


12. Next, you may want to set up additional integration actions, such as for when a guest is checked into an event. The easiest way to do this is to duplicate your previously configured Greenhouse integration.


13. Re-name the integration and update the Action field. 


14. Save and toggle ON your integration. Rinse & repeat as needed ;)
